On Sunday you can go to the Detroit Bar for Speakeasy. Fun time with crafters, drinks and music
Hurray!
I have not done what I did this weekend in months..maybe even years. It was Headphonerecord's birthday week, which I totally screwed up and wished her a happy birthday at the beginning of the week instead of the day but I think it's ok because I drove up to hang out with her and Felicious.
It was one of the best weekends ever! I miss just hanging out with people. I never do that enough in L.A. Just hanging out on a busy street or hanging out at the park or even hanging out at a show. I got all of that in because Headphonerecord is Queen of Hangout Time. She is amazing and wonderful!
I ended up seeing so many people, whether it was running to them (like Marci and Deth(so good to see them!!!) or just hanging out with them because we were all together to celebrate Headphonerecord. I saw lots of faces I haven't seen in months even years and even met some new ones.
It was a whirlwind tour! Drove up at midnight, hung out for 2 days and then drove down at 11ish. I made it back to L.A. in 5 hours I think. It might have been less. I was driving like a mad woman listening to all the mix cds friends have made me over the years. It was awesome! My friends musical tastes rock!
I ended up eating a lot of delicious food, going to a show (the Magic Bullets at BOTH were super fun! They made me happy) and just spending Q.T. with amazing friends! hurray! I must not let too much time go by before doing this again.
Happy Birthday to Miss Headphonephone. Thanks to Felicious. Thanks to all the lovely faces and people i hugged and talked to and met! I miss S.F. and they always make it wonderful.
I don't know why? I couldn't change the channel. Plus, Denzel Washington (hubba!) was on. I was eating my delicious oatmeal with dried apricots. I had a hot cup of lemon water in my hand. I secretly kind of like a couple of their songs. It's like supporting one of my students. I don't know!!!!!

Currently, I am feeling a little out of wack today. I woke up at 10:50 am!! I normally (even if I have been out dancing and what not) wake up at 8:00 am. I am sure this happens to everybody but now, I just feel confused and out of it. What the hell? I have to get out of my house by noon to get to work on time too. I had all these big plans for the morning too. Like cleaning, sweeping up the front door area, washing dishes, making breakfast...but no! Instead, I was rushing around like a chicken with its head cut off because I just was too horrified that I woke up so late. So, now I'm at work and in a semi-grouchy mood.
I also found out as I walked in, that we were going to take pictures by the Christmas tree. What the hell? I swear, it's not like we are all a happy dysfunctional work crew. We're not. Half of us don't even speak to the other half. So now we have to make happy in front of the Christmas tree because it's the holidays? Not a fan of the fakery!
Anyway, I shouldn't be so crabby but this is what happens when you have to down a Mickey D's lunch and iced coffee to jump start the afternoon!
At least last night was fun. Felicious is in town and so we went to our favorite place, The Vermont. MisterJT put it perfectly that Kurtis could be considered a very good friend. I agree. I went up to the bar to say good night and Kurtis asked about school and all sorts of stuff and then gave me a hard time for not stopping by when I came in. Sorry! I had just been stuck in an hour of traffic coming from LAX! Forgive me :) Luckily they also have music again on Saturday nights too:) so dancing was on the menu for us at the end of the night. Only problem is that he did not have Beyonce Fierce's "Single Ladies." I think I should make a glove just for that song!
Friday night, I had the holiday work party. It's nice that we actually had one since most places have cancelled their parties. I went with Tall Guy and we unknowingly matched outfits. The theme was green. That's what happens when you are BFFs with someone. The party was fun. This year the dj was much much better. Also, the librarians took over the dance floor. That was amazing :) Then next thing I knew, the clock struck the magic hour and I had to leave. I didn't even get to eat anything. We had to pick up Miss F so we could check out the crazy holiday lights in Winnetka. Yeah! We drove out there for that!
We saw 2 streets - Candy Cane Lane and Candle Light Lane. It was amazing! Those people go all out!
Anyway, I guess, I better take a break now and pass out in the back! Have a good one folks!
