I have not done what I did this weekend in months..maybe even years. It was Headphonerecord's birthday week, which I totally screwed up and wished her a happy birthday at the beginning of the week instead of the day but I think it's ok because I drove up to hang out with her and Felicious.
It was one of the best weekends ever! I miss just hanging out with people. I never do that enough in L.A. Just hanging out on a busy street or hanging out at the park or even hanging out at a show. I got all of that in because Headphonerecord is Queen of Hangout Time. She is amazing and wonderful!
I ended up seeing so many people, whether it was running to them (like Marci and Deth(so good to see them!!!) or just hanging out with them because we were all together to celebrate Headphonerecord. I saw lots of faces I haven't seen in months even years and even met some new ones.
It was a whirlwind tour! Drove up at midnight, hung out for 2 days and then drove down at 11ish. I made it back to L.A. in 5 hours I think. It might have been less. I was driving like a mad woman listening to all the mix cds friends have made me over the years. It was awesome! My friends musical tastes rock!
I ended up eating a lot of delicious food, going to a show (the Magic Bullets at BOTH were super fun! They made me happy) and just spending Q.T. with amazing friends! hurray! I must not let too much time go by before doing this again.
Happy Birthday to Miss Headphonephone. Thanks to Felicious. Thanks to all the lovely faces and people i hugged and talked to and met! I miss S.F. and they always make it wonderful.
Ring...ring...ring....

I know, we are celebrating your birthday next Monday but I thought I would post a picture. It is always good to remember Martin Luther King, Jr.'s leadership and contributions to this country. Especially with all of the talk about Hillary Clinton vs. Barack Obama statements about who contributed what. I do not think that at this point in our nation anyone statements can undermine what Dr. King did for this country. Honestly, I am sad that the either team is continuing the slinging. Because it is not a discussion.
But aside from that. I think we need some inspiration, click on this link for Memory Game on Wild Horse Society and remember.
My friend, Melle Music, made this on Flickr for me. She is hilarious! Hey, we are celebrating the day of my birth for the next month! And this has to be one of the coolest presents ever.
Last night, we went out with my work crew. Is it just me? Or do you like to keep things like work and life separated? How often to do you mix the groups? I always find it a little difficult to mix groups. Some people I have known forever and I will admit, breaking into the circle can sometimes be difficult because there is such rapport & comraderie & friendship & love. Most of the time all are welcome but I know, for me as well, that it can be difficult to merge into a group.
Anyway, is it wrong that I am wishing myself a Happy Birthday? I think not.
I am trying to just enjoy this month day by day. I still have flashes of my pop's last couple of weeks. But day by day is all a girl can do to keep from being overwhelmed with things.
