After the most mind-blowing weekend of my life, I am feeling a lot calmer in the last 24 hours.
Then, of course, today, I read this interesting, thought-provoking article in Psychology Today called Dare to be Yourself. First of all, why do I always forget that I read the most engaging and interesting articles in that magazine. Probably because I'm not a psychologist but you know, it's fascinating and helpful. I had to copy down a number of quotes from it because it was validating and I kept nodding my head in agreement as I read parts of it. Basically, it is about being authentic and how that is one of the most difficult things we can be. Or in other words "Keeping It Real" and not like Dave Chappelle's skits, which I LOVE!
But I began to wonder, what else am I supposed to take from this? Aside from the validation of being as authentic to myself, which will therefore pass on to those around me, but what else? A bit more empathy? (thank you Daniel Pink) However, what is that balance? Do you struggle with having too much empathy? I do not. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest), I would give myself a 3-4. Not too balanced but I'm working on it.
Because now I need a laugh, I'm gonna watch Dave Chappelle Season 2.
This isn't from Season 2 but you know, whatever. I'm keeping it real! LOL
My mind has been blown completely out of its normal state.
It has been a LONG LONG while since this has happened.
I am joyful happy sad overwhelmed euphoric.
I do not know where to put all this energy.
Things that have been placed before me that I am attempting to comprehend.
Acknowledgement.
Acceptance.
Honesty.
These are things that are bouncing back and forth and back and forth across my mind's eye.
Have you been here before?
Are you getting here?
I feel like a hippie but I am ok with that.
Parallel journeys.
Or I just think about Chimay-may (not her name) and say with passion and conviction "shove it up your arse"
But I won't.
My mind spirit has just been kicked into hyperdrive.
If you could, which film would you un-watch or which book would you un-read?

Pretty much any movie with Jennifer Lopez in it. She is awful and even the actors she is surrounded with in those movies cannot save it. You can NEVER get that time back. Even George Clooney could not save her in "Out of Sight" and people LOVE that movie.
Ok, so I was watching this clip on DListed (yes, I read that crap, don't judge. Michael K is HILARIOUS!) anyway, here
So, remember Steve Rodgers right? OK. Watch it to refresh your memories.
I was watching Steve Rodgers and I was staring and staring thinking, "OMG. Is that "Daniel" from Ugly Betty?" I just watched Ugly Betty last night so it was fresh in my mind.
Happy Friday Folks!

I miss her face. I miss her voice. I miss her.
Love you Miss Headphonerecord!
I have a new addiction and they are called Fruity Cheerios
I know, cheerios are good for me right? But this is why I actually like them. They are just like mini versions of Froot Loops!!!
Ok, time for Oprah. Have a good one folks!
Wow. Yesterday was pretty much a whirlwind. I got up and went hiking with Mellemusic. I think, we are going to make it a weekly thing again! YAY! I did miss hiking at our spot early on Saturdays. I am always surprised at how many people are up and out before us and we get there at 7am!
After the hike, we walked around some more and then I helped out pouring some fancy wine at the Autry Museum for Melle's job. It was pretty cool. The crowd was interesting and they all were pretty happy to be at the tasting to support United Way. People really do love their wine. We ran out after about an 1-1/2 hrs. We had 2 cases full and 4 different wines. I tasted some just so I would know what I was pouring. I did like the Long View Wineries chardonney. I think, I'm more a white wine drinker than a red wine, even though red is supposedly healthy for you. Whatever. I don't really drink wine so I have no idea what I'm talking about. With that said, it sure was easy to convince people that a certain wine you were pouring was good. I would say, "Oh it's good and it's from Argentina" and people would just agree with me. I have no idea what I'm saying people! What if you thought it was crap? But Melle's company does not distribute bad wines. I just thought those people should have their own opinions about it either way. I thought people would have a much more discerning palette but obviously no one wants to pretend that they don't know things.
We had a good time laughing at the uncles who kept coming around trying to flirt and drink all our wine. That's the other thing about wine. People are not so willing to try new ones. They pretty much stuck to the ones that they heard about before like cabernet. Melle brought a Malbec and people would read the label and you could tell they were wondering what it was but did not want to try it.
Then we met up with Tall Guy and hung out at the studio. Everyone's on a budget these days so it's all about free events and finding ways to amuse ourselves at home. Can I tell you that I seem to have forgotten about how to hang out with friends at my place? It's like "what do we do?" I don't own boardgames. I should get a gaming system just so we can have something to do. And maybe a couch...More to add to the list.
Oh and I'm all excited about the upcoming X-Files movie!
And yes, I will watch the Dark Knight too but everyone's excited about that one. I have been waiting for the new X-Files movie so I am excited that it'll be out on Friday :) YAY!
Last week ‘the father of surf films’, Bud "Barracuda" Browne, the onetime lifeguard who began showing his 16-millimeter movies commercially in the early 1950’s, died in his sleep at his home in San Luis Obispo. He was 96.
