Current Obsession: Rilo Kiley's "Under the Blacklight"
Can I be any more obsessed with this album? Yes, I think so. A couple of nights after I bought this, I was house sitting at my friends' apartment in Santa Monica and I spend the better part of the weekend playing this album over and over and over again. I am sure their neighbors were pretty pleased with me.
We had a pretty intense discussion over this album and Rilo Kiley's maturity as a band. Personally, I think it is an amazing album. It's eclectic, Jenny Lewis' singing is incredible, it displays more of their talents as musicians. However, I still stand by my opinion about the track, "Dejalo." I cannot deal with that song. It's the chorus. It's her singing "Dejalo, Nuestra Cosa." It makes me cringe. Overall, the song has good lyrics but that chorus just rubs me the wrong way. Overall, I love the album. I think it is a good departure from "More Adventurous." I am sure a lot of people will disagree with me on that one.

Mister JT & I figured out that the beginning of "Dreamworld" reminds us of a Wham song. We had a good time trying to figure that one out. But I also love the fact that it's Blake Sennett singing.
"Breakin' Up" always need songs for that break-up mix cd. Just kidding. The harmony and joy in the chorus
just makes me happy.
Question: The Waters - does anyone know any thing about them? They are wonderful. (I suppose, as a librarian, I could look this up...but I find it's always best to ask people about music. That's how I get my knowledge and it's a lot more fun talking to people about music.)
SIDE NOTE: Ahh, thanks to Miss C, Miss K & Mickey for letting me crash at their apartment. Saved my life from the mad heatwave this past weekend. I heart them.
